Grounded in curiosity and compassion, my psychology background complements my classes as a trauma-informed yoga teacher, by allowing me to integrate somatic regulation and emotional safety techniques into the practice.
I have worked as an Assistant Therapist and a Mental Health Support Worker, supporting adults with complex mental health needs across domestic violence support and substance misuse services.
I have also co‑facilitated trauma‑informed support groups for survivors of domestic abuse, helping to create a non‑judgemental space where individuals can begin rebuilding trust, self‑esteem, and relational safety.
My MSc research on Decolonising Psychology Education is currently being published and will be available to read here soon. The project highlighted the necessity of expanding psychological knowledge beyond traditional Western frameworks, by advocating for the inclusion of indigenous knowledge systems into the curriculum. I also worked as a Research Advisor to the Decolonisation Working Group at City St George’s University of London, synthesising my research into accessible reports and presentations to inform faculty decision-making regarding decolonising psychology curricula.
